The Awards & Recognition Gala is an opportunity to recognize ECE practitioners who have demonstrated exemplary practice in their work and service to children and families. A program is planned which includes dinner, silent auction, raffles, fun and recognition activities.

La soirée de gala et de reconnaissance est l’occasion de reconnaître le travail des praticiennes en éducation à la petite enfance qui ont démontré une pratique exemplaire dans leur travail avec les enfants et leurs familles. Cette soirée inclut un souper, l’encan silencieux, des tirages, du plaisir et des activités de reconnaissance comme la remise des prix d’excellence: ECLC Awards of Excellence Program  and Practice; Early Childhood Care and Education Service Awards; IHSE 25th  Anniversary Award et la reconnaissance des éducatrices nouvellement certifiées ECE’s (CCECENS)

  • The Early Childhood Learning and Care (ECLC) Award of Excellence for Practice: This honour will be awarded to a child care practitioner (centre/program administrator or Early Childhood Educator(ECE)) working in the Nova Scotia child care sector who consistently demonstrates best practices in their care of young children and an outstanding dedication to the children they care for and to the early childhood learning and care field. Sponsored by Dairy Farmers of Canada

  • The ECLC Award of Excellence for Program : This honour will be awarded to a licensed Nova Scotia early childhood learning and care program (centre based or family child care program/agency) that provides outstanding and high quality early childhood care and learning to the children enrolled in the program.

  • ECE (CCECENS) Recognition: Newly certified ECE (CCECENS)'s will be presented to the ECLC sector by the Certification Council of Early Childhood Educators of Nova Scotia (CCECENS).

  • ECCE 20+ Service Awards: Licensed Child Care programs that have been in operation more than 20 years will be recognized for their years of service. (2009 awarded centres stories) Sponsors: Child Care Connection NS; Institute for Human Services Education

  • The  IHSE Silver Anniversary Alumni Award

  • The Edward Jost Legacy Award The Edward Jost Child Care Legacy Award recognizes the efforts and dedication of it’s nominees in Nova Scotia that have provided services to children and families in their communities and worked hard to improve the Nova Scotia Child Care Sector.
